Broomfield Community Foundation's

Youth Advisory Council (or YAC) supports local nonprofits and charitable organizations through fundraising,

grant-making and volunteering.


Students gain great insights, presentation skills,

and have the opportunity to take on leadership roles.

Applications are open now through March 31st.

Students who are incoming freshmen through

seniors are encouraged to apply.

Youth Advisory Council Hosts Bound Back Event

to Support Mental Health


The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is wrapping up its annual grant-making initiative, carefully selecting local nonprofits to receive funding. This year, the focus is on organizations that provide mental health support to the community. To help fund these grants, YAC is aiming to raise $2,500—surpassing last year’s efforts by more than $1,500.


To reach this goal, YAC is hosting Bounce Back, a teen-focused fundraiser at Lafayette Bounce Empire—a massive facility packed with inflatable bounce structures. The event will take place on Thursday, April 17th, from 5-8 PM and is open to students in 6th-12th grade. Younger children may attend with a parental chaperone. Best of all, 100% of the event’s profits will support local mental health nonprofits.


You can help make a difference! Spread the word to middle and high school students in your life about this fun and meaningful event. Tickets are $29 for youth and $10 for parents hanging out in the 'chill space.' Also, ensuring all interested students can attend, fifty complimentary tickets will be distributed through local nonprofits who identify qualifying individuals.

Meet Board Treasurer, Tanner Tweten


Meet our talented Treasurer, Tanner Tweten, who is on the Executive team.


Tanner's passion in his own words -

Community! Being part of a community and helping that community thrive is a big part of who I am, both personally and professionally. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a small town of 200 people in northeastern Montana where everyone was your neighbor (literally) and the community was always there to help, no matter the situation or need. That support, and sense of community, is what helped form me into the person I am today and for that I am forever grateful. 


While slightly larger, I feel like Broomfield is a city that has that same community focus, and the Foundation helps bring together the community to help those in need. There are so many fantastic non-profits serving the Broomfield community, and I feel very fortunate to be able to witness, and support, those efforts as a Foundation Board Member.
